Add a local-only "Screen sharing" section to Settings plus a per-call quality
picker on the Share control: in-app control over how a share is encoded
(quality/bitrate/framerate/max-height/max-viewers/software-x264, + extra
pixelpass args) and how it's played back (mpv/vlc, hardware decode, buffering,
cache, + extra mpv args). Settings live in AppConfig.screen_share (all
serde-defaulted, so old configs load unchanged) and become pixelpass host CLI
flags / mpv args at share/view launch.
Hardware decode defaults OFF, which also fixes the frozen-frame-with-audio bug:
forcing --hwdec=auto stalled some viewers' HW decoder on frame 1 while audio
kept playing.

Fixes the two P2 efficacy findings from the Codex audit of the W12
profiles feature.
FEC was enabled on the encoder but never used: the jitter buffer's
loss path did pure PLC, so the redundancy was wasted bitrate. Now the
gap path reconstructs the lost frame from the next buffered packet via
Opus in-band FEC (new `AudioDecoder::decode_fec`, libopus decode with
fec=true into a one-frame buffer), keeping that packet for its own
normal decode and falling back to PLC if FEC decode fails. This is the
documented libopus FEC pattern; receiver-side only, no wire change.
DTX was enabled on BadNetwork but provided no benefit — the capture
noise gate already suppresses silence transmission, and the broadcast
DTX silence packets only created seq gaps that grew the jitter cushion.
All profiles now set dtx=false (plumbing kept for a future revisit).
Adds a jitter-buffer test proving FEC reconstruction beats pure PLC
(RMS error < 0.75x) and that the FEC source packet stays buffered.
500 lib tests, clippy + fmt clean, release build clean.

Add a small, named codec-policy picker (Low latency / Balanced / Bad
network) instead of exposing raw Opus knobs. The profile->params mapping
is a pure function (`codec::opus_impl::opus_params`) for unit testing;
profiles tune bitrate, in-band FEC, expected packet-loss, and DTX.
- config: `AudioProfile` enum (serde + Display + ALL + u8 round-trip),
persisted `audio_profile` field (default Balanced).
- codec: `OpusParams` + pure `opus_params()` + `OpusEncoder::apply_params`
/ `apply_profile`.
- core: new `SetAudioProfile` command (Reliable, no coalesce); a shared
`AtomicU8` lets the capture thread re-tune the live encoder on a
mid-call switch and read it at each new call's encoder creation.
- app: Settings "Connection quality" picker in the Audio tab, startup
config-sync send, and a one-line hint per profile.
No wire-format change (GOSSIP/audio planes untouched). 499 lib tests
green (config + codec mapping/apply tests added), clippy + fmt clean.

The repo never enforced rustfmt, so formatting had drifted broadly. This is a
single mechanical `cargo fmt` pass over the whole crate (no behavioral change;
lib suite green, 493 passed). Going forward fmt should be enforced (planned CI
fmt --check step). Part of the 0.6.1 hygiene pass.

AppConfig::save now writes to a same-dir temp file and atomically renames
over the target (mirrors identity.rs/friends.rs), and surfaces errors via
log_msg instead of swallowing them. AppConfig::load distinguishes a missing
config (silent default, first run) from a present-but-corrupt one: the damaged
file is moved aside to config.json.corrupt.<unix_secs> before falling back to
defaults, so a later save can no longer clobber the user's real prefs.
Path-injectable seams save_to/load_from + LoadOutcome with unit tests
(round-trip, missing, corrupt-preserves-bytes, no leftover temp). No new deps,
no schema/wire change. Codex-implemented (gpt-5.5 xhigh), senior-reviewed.

The full music panel was rendered inline at all times (its own card in
the 3-column layout, stuffed into the Controls panel otherwise), which
crowded every layout. Move it behind two toggles:
- A room-only ♪ button in the top bar shows/hides a slim 56px
now-playing player bar (track + ⏮ ⏸/▶ ⏭ + position + expand). The
preference persists (AppConfig.show_player_bar).
- The bar's ⤢ button opens the full panel in a resizable right-edge
drawer (DividerKind::PlaylistDrawer, mirrors the Chat drawer). When
open, body_w shrinks so the layouts' fixed panels don't overflow.
Removes all inline playlist placement (3-col card + ThreeColPlaylist
divider, ctrl_music block) and the now-dead clamp/consts. Pure
now_playing_label seam + drawer-width clamp test. 474 lib tests, clippy
-D warnings clean, release build green.

Personal playlist on a dedicated music player (browse/play/prev/next/
seek/volume/reorder/remove, .pls/.m3u import), plus per-person shared
listening: broadcast your track over presence, peers tune in and stream
it point-to-point over the files plane. Playback is timeline-synced
(play/pause/skip/seek mirror with no drift) with gapless prefetch of the
next track and independent per-source volume per listener.
In the 3-column layout the playlist gets its own card stacked under the
chat, with a resizable divider and its own scrollbar; other layouts keep
it in the Controls panel.
Breaking wire change: gossip protocol v5 (presence gains music fields),
so 0.6.0 peers cannot share a swarm with 0.5.x. Version bumped 0.5.1 ->
0.6.0; CHANGELOG updated.
Untrusted-input handling: broadcast track name sanitized and size
cap-checked at gossip ingest, fetched bytes confirmed audio before
decode, only the descriptor rides gossip (bytes go point-to-point, one
fetch in flight).

Add a per-clip volume slider plus a master volume control with a
"Universal volume" toggle in the chat header.
- ClipPlayer gains a SetVolume command; the worker remembers gain across
clips and reapplies it to each freshly connected player.
- New config.clip_volume (universal level) and config.clip_volume_universal
(mode toggle, default on), both persisted; old configs load at unity in
universal mode.
- Universal on: master and per-clip sliders drive one shared level applied
to every clip. Universal off: each clip keeps its own in-memory level and
the master slider is inert.
- play_ready_audio applies the resolved effective gain right after Play.

Step 1 of the game-detection feature (game-presence-plan.md): all the
pure, I/O-free logic, tested first.
- src/game/mod.rs: DetectedGame + stable namespaced ids (steam:730 /
exe:hl2_linux, never the mutable name); ManualOverride; the priority
resolve() matcher (override -> Steam -> mapped process -> none); the
Debouncer (2-on/3-off, immediate bypass for manual override) that
stops a flapping detector re-announcing the ~48KB-avatar PeerState;
match_processes() over explicit user mappings with a launcher denylist
(never guesses a game from an arbitrary process).
- src/game/vdf.rs: a real recursive-descent KeyValues/VDF parser (not a
name-regex) for appmanifest/.acf, libraryfolders.vdf, registry.vdf —
depth-capped, escape-aware, never panics on malformed/truncated input.
- src/sanitize.rs: sanitize_game_label (64-char/256-byte cap, wider than
the 48-char name cap) sharing the bidi/zero-width cleaning.
- src/config.rs: additive game_presence_enabled (opt-in, default OFF),
game_backgrounds + game_process_map (BTreeMap, deterministic);
background_path generalized to hashed per-game files; explicit
legacy-config migration test (load() wipes on any deserialize error).
- src/background.rs: game_background_filename (FNV-1a hashed, fs-safe).
No wire/protocol change yet; no OS reads yet. 386 lib tests (+28).

Let a listener apply a noise gate to an individual peer's incoming
audio — "fix this person's noisy mic / background hum on my end" —
which is only possible because full-mesh P2P keeps every peer's stream
unmixed locally (server-mixed apps can't do per-listener per-peer DSP).
The DSP is the existing mic NoiseGate reused verbatim: it already
processes i16 frames at a fixed rate with hysteresis/attack/release/
hangover and takes the threshold per-frame. Wiring mirrors per-peer EQ:
- AppConfig.peer_gate map (threshold per peer id; absent/0 = off),
persisted, never sent over the wire
- CoreCommand::SetPeerGate + Arc<Mutex<HashMap>> shared into the mixer
- a live HashMap<EndpointId, NoiseGate> in the mixer task, created
lazily and dropped when disabled (no rebuild needed — threshold is
passed per frame)
- Gate row (threshold slider, "Off" at zero) in each participant card
next to Vol/Pan/EQ, persisting on release
The gate runs on the raw decoded frame: after the clean multitrack stem
tap (recordings stay ungated) but before volume/EQ, so the threshold
tracks the peer's true signal level regardless of our volume setting.
Same 0..METER_MAX scale as the mic gate.
+2 unit tests (config helper); +1 config back-compat assertion.

The per-peer volume slider had no .step(), so iced's default step of
1.0 on a 0.0..=2.0 range meant it could only snap to 0%, 100%, or
200% — it felt like hard-left/hard-right only. Add .step(0.01) for
smooth 1%-increment control (matching the Pan slider below it, which
already set its own step).
Also persist per-peer volume across sessions, mirroring peer_pan/peer_eq:
- new AppConfig.peer_volume map (keyed by peer id string, serde default
for back-compat; never sent over the wire)
- replace the in-memory peer_volumes map with config-backed storage via
a new set_peer_volume_config helper (clamps to range, drops at-unity
entries so the config stays tidy)
- replay saved volumes to core on startup alongside pan/eq
- the slider writes to disk on release (AppMessage::PersistConfig)

Add a purely-local, most-recent-first recents list so users can hop back
into a room they were just in — meaningful now that rooms carry cosmetic
labels.
- src/recents.rs (new): `Recent {name, ticket, joined_at}`, `push_recent`
(de-dupes by room `topic_id`, refresh-and-move-to-front, caps at
RECENTS_MAX=12), `remove_recent`, `relative_time` ("5m ago"). 6 tests.
- PeerSpeakTicket::topic_of — the stable room identity used as the de-dup
key (host addr + label change between members/sessions; topic doesn't).
- AppConfig.recents (`#[serde(default)]`, back-compat) — local UI state,
never sent over the wire.
- Recorded on RoomJoined (label via label_of); rendered as a "Recent
rooms" block in connect_card (each entry → JoinRecent, ✕ → RemoveRecent),
shown only when non-empty.
Rejoin is best-effort by design: the stored ticket only admits us while
the room is still live and reachable (reliability is P6 discovery + the
member-issued ticket floor, not this list).
263 lib tests green, clippy --all-targets clean. Recents UI
screenshot-verified (seeded config → ages + Untitled-room fallback render).

The logic half of the friends-only idle listener, built as pure unit-tested
seams so the security-critical decisions are provable without live networking.
src/presence.rs:
- ControlMsg { Ping, Pong { room: Option<RoomPresence> } } — self-describing
tagged JSON; unknown tags rejected (forward-compat).
- should_answer(from, friends, mode): the authorization gate — answer pings
from FRIENDS ONLY and never while invisible. This whitelist is what keeps
the always-on-while-open endpoint from being a stranger-facing spam/DoS
surface; must be the authenticated remote_id, never payload data.
- PresenceMode { Invisible, Normal(default), Discoverable } + helpers; persisted
in AppConfig (backward-compat default = Normal = friends-only, no beacon).
- interpret_pong: defensive reply handling — sanitizes the peer-supplied room
name and only surfaces a joinable room if its ticket actually parses, else
downgrades to plain Online (no dead/hostile Join button). Never auto-joins.
Deferred to a 2-machine session (the I/O edges): binding the live control
endpoint, its accept loop, and the ping scheduler. +8 presence tests, 256 lib
tests green, clippy clean, release builds.

Add a per-event enable checkbox next to each chime in Settings so a user
can silence individual sounds (e.g. keep 'message'/peer-join but drop
reconnect chimes) while the master 'Enable sound notifications' toggle
stays as the global kill-switch.
The gate lives in one place at the play() seam: a pure should_play(master,
sound) AND that's unit-tested, fed by a per-sound AtomicBool array in
notify keyed by a stable Sound::index/ALL. Flags persist as 8 sound_*_enabled
bools in AppConfig (default true, so upgrades are silent-change-free) with
sound_enabled/set_sound_enabled accessors centralizing the field mapping.
The per-sound checkbox greys out (drops on_toggle) while the master is off.
+3 notify unit tests (should_play truth table, index bijection, flag
set/query independence) + extended config backward-compat test. 230 lib
tests green, clippy clean.

Adds bundled preset avatars on top of the monogram foundation.
- New `Avatar` enum (Monogram | Preset(u8)) in the avatar module, serde-encoded;
6 preset PNGs embedded via include_bytes! (placeholder art in assets/avatars/
— swap for real designs later). +3 unit tests.
- `PeerState` gains `avatar` (rides the gossip presence plane like `sharing`);
`AppConfig` gains `avatar` (persisted). Avatar choice flows app → core (Join +
new SetAvatar command) → every self-state announce, so it reaches the room incl.
late joiners, and changing it mid-call re-announces live.
- Settings "Avatar" section: monogram + 6 preset tiles, applied live + persisted.
- Rendering: `avatar_view` draws the chosen preset image (iced `image` feature,
now enabled) else the monogram, in the self card, peer rows, and chat (chat
looks up the sender's avatar from presence by id).
⚠️ BREAKING gossip wire change: presence Announce is signed (S2) and the
signature is recomputed by re-serializing the parsed struct, so a new PeerState
field means old and new builds can't verify each other's presence — ALL peers
must run a build >= this one (same as the S2 change). Redeploy dopedart before
2-machine testing.
Build + clippy clean, 222 lib + integration tests green.

Adds the "Recording" category to the Settings page so the recording mode is
selectable from the UI (config + core wiring already existed from Stage 2).
- AppMessage::RecordingModeSelected → persists config + sends SetRecordingMode
(takes effect on the next recording start). recording_mode_hint copy.
- iced 0.14 pick_list can't host per-option tooltips, so the three modes are
RADIO BUTTONS each wrapped in a `tooltip` (hover explains that mode) — chosen
over a dropdown so each option is self-documenting. Placed after Microphone,
using the shared section_header; output-dir note below.
- +1 config test (recording_mode round-trip + is_multitrack classification).
User-verified live (Both mode writes the expected WAVs; radios + tooltips
approved). Senior-written — Gemini's unsanctioned Stage 3 attempt was discarded.

Wires MultitrackRecorder into the live audio path, behind a recording_mode.
- config: RecordingMode { Mixed, Multitrack, Both } + AppConfig.recording_mode
(serde-default Mixed, back-compat); CoreCommand::SetRecordingMode, sent at
app startup from config.
- multitrack.rs: mic now arrives async via push_mic into an internal FIFO,
drained one frame per end_cycle (mirrors recorder.rs) so the mic track tracks
the cycle clock; added dir() accessor. mic is a plain WavWriter now.
- core: parallel `multitrack` slot + `is_multitrack` fast-path gate (exactly one
of the mixed/multitrack recorders is active). SetRecording start branches on
mode: Mixed → single-file Recorder (unchanged); Multitrack/Both → a per-session
dir, MultitrackRecorder, and registers everyone already in the room (named,
silence-aligned from t=0). The mixer taps each peer's RAW frame (pre-volume/
mute/limiter) into stems and writes peer stems + mix (Both) + end_cycle per
cycle; the capture thread pushes mic to whichever recorder; PeerJoined adds a
late joiner's stem track. stop_recording finalizes both.
No UI yet to pick the mode (Stage 3) — defaults to Mixed, so behaviour is
unchanged until then; set recording_mode in config.json to exercise stems.

The UI was hardcoded to one Catppuccin Mocha palette (color literals in
view() + theme() pinned to Dark). It now sources colours from a chosen
theme's palette, selectable in Settings.
- theme.rs (NEW): Palette (13 semantic colour roles) + AppTheme enum
(Catppuccin Mocha/Macchiato/Frappe/Latte, Dracula, Nord, Tokyo Night,
Gruvbox Dark, Solarized Light, Gruvbox Light). Pure palette()/label()/
ALL/base_theme()/is_dark() + WCAG relative_luminance()/contrast_ratio().
- config: theme: AppTheme field (serde-default Mocha) + backward-compat.
- app: theme() returns config.theme.base_theme() (iced widget chrome);
view() + with_layout_picker() source colours from the palette; new
ThemeSwatch canvas widget; a Theme section of clickable swatches in
Settings; SelectTheme applies live + persists. Canvas widgets already
take colours as data, so they re-theme for free.
Tests written alongside (+7 theme, +2 config; 135 -> 144 lib): every
palette clears WCAG AA text-on-base contrast (4.5:1) with subtext/accent
>= 3:1, is_dark matches luminance direction, variants distinct/labeled,
serde round-trips, default = Mocha.
Verified live: the Settings swatch grid renders all 10 palettes and the
whole UI re-themes (screenshot-checked Latte light + Dracula dark).

X11 sessions now persist and restore the window position (window_x/y) in
addition to size. Gated to X11: Wayland's xdg-shell gives clients no way
to self-position, so we center there (and iced never emits Moved on
Wayland, so window_x/y stay None). No drift across save/restore — iced's
Moved event and Position::Specific both use the window's outer position.
Also confirmed peerspeak already runs on X11 out of the box (winit
compiles both backends and auto-selects via WAYLAND_DISPLAY/DISPLAY) and
documented X11/Wayland support in FEATURES.md.
- config: window_x/window_y: Option<i32> (serde-default None).
- app: is_wayland() + pure initial_window_position() helper; a Moved
handler records position; the close path persists it.
- tests: +3 initial_window_position (X11 restore / Wayland centers /
partial-or-missing centers), +2 config (round-trip incl. negative
coords; backward-compat load without the new fields). 130 -> 135 lib.
Verified live on X11/XWayland: saved an off-center position, the window
reopened there (not centered). clippy clean incl. --all-targets.

The window always opened at the hardcoded 900x760 because the size was never
persisted: run_gui hardcoded it, AppConfig had no size fields, and the Resized
handler only kept the size in memory (for divider clamping) while
exit_on_close_request:true quit before anything could save.
- AppConfig gains window_width/window_height (serde-default 900/760).
- run_gui restores them as the initial window size.
- The Resized handler mirrors the live size into config (guarded against bogus
tiny sizes); divider positions on load now clamp against the restored size
rather than a hardcoded default.
- exit_on_close_request:false + a CloseRequested handler writes the final size
once, then iced::exit() — no per-resize disk thrash.
Verified empirically that KWin/Wayland honors a client-requested initial size
(requested 1150x680 -> window reported 1150x680). Window *position* is not
restored: xdg-shell gives Wayland clients no way to set their own position.
+1 config test (default + round-trip).

Surface pixelpass screen-sharing from inside a peerspeak room. peerspeak owns
voice, pixelpass owns pixels — they're never Cargo deps of each other; the
contract is pixelpass's CLI flags + its `--output json` stdout stream.
Modelled on Discord: multiple simultaneous sharers, a 🔴 Live badge + 👁 Watch
on each sharing peer's card, and in-progress shares visible to late joiners.
- New `src/screenshare` module: pure `parse_pixelpass_event` seam + `pixelpass_path`
discovery (13 unit tests), async `spawn_host` (→ ticket) and `spawn_viewer`
(→ parse connected{url} → open mpv, vlc fallback). No new deps.
- Sharing rides presence: `PeerState.sharing: Option<ticket>` (serde-defaulted),
so the existing gossip re-announce delivers the offer to late joiners for free
and a PeerUpdated fires on start/stop — no separate gossip message needed.
- core: Start/Stop/ViewShare commands; host + viewer children tracked in the
session, killed on stop/leave (kill_on_drop backstop). Viewer limit left to
pixelpass's bandwidth-measured cap.
- UI: Share/Stop button (graceful "needs pixelpass" disabled state), Live badge
+ Watch on peer cards, Sharing badge on the self card. Verified by screenshot.
- config: optional `pixelpass_path` override (hand-editable).
Tests-green; the 2-machine gossip/remote path is not yet field-verified.

Add three in-call room layouts — 3-Column (Participants | Chat | Controls),
Bottom Dock (Participants+Controls over a full-width Chat strip), and Drawer
(Participants | Controls with a collapsible Chat panel) — chosen via one
persisted RoomLayout config setting and applied live.
Picker UX: a square layout button (drawn LayoutIcon glyph) in the top bar of the
launch and in-call screens opens a popup gallery (dimmed click-to-dismiss
backdrop + centered panel) of clickable schematic thumbnails; the Settings screen
shows the same thumbnails inline (no button). Thumbnails are drawn with the
canvas widget (new LayoutThumb program — colored panel boxes, blue border on the
selected one), so no image-decoding dependency is added.
Each layout's panel boundaries are draggable (DividerKind gains Controls +
ChatDrawer for the 3-column right divider and the drawer's left edge; new
clamp_controls_width / clamp_chat_drawer_width, persisted + re-clamped on resize).
Participants width is shared across layouts but capped per layout at render time
so a fixed panel can't starve the Fill panel (e.g. a wide Participants width set
in the dock layout won't collapse Chat in 3-column or Controls in the drawer).
The Drawer layout adds a header chat-toggle. +1 clamp test (now 127 tests).

Remember last nickname: a new serde-default AppConfig.username field is
pre-filled into the launch-screen nickname field, and saved when a room is
joined or created (i.e. when the name is actually used), so it carries across
launches.
Sanitize chat: a pure sanitize_chat() drops control characters (ANSI escapes,
NUL, stray CR/LF/TAB), collapses whitespace runs to single spaces, trims, and
caps length (2000 chars). Applied to our outgoing text on submit AND to incoming
peer messages on receive — peer content is untrusted, so the sender's name and
text are both sanitized before display; empty-after-sanitize messages are
dropped. Unit tests for sanitize_chat (control/whitespace/unicode/empty + length
cap) and a config backward-compat assertion for username.

Add a reusable Divider canvas widget and place two in the room screen: a
vertical divider between the Participants and Controls panels (drag to resize
the Participants width) and a horizontal divider between the main row and the
Chat dock (drag to resize the dock height). The Participants panel and Chat dock
size from persisted config values; the Controls panel and main row fill the rest.
The widget reports drag motion as a pixel delta along its axis (mirroring the
GateMeter drag handling, so a drag continues past the thin strip). update()
applies the delta and clamps it: clamp_participants_width / clamp_chat_height
keep both sides of each divider above a minimum. Sizes are re-clamped on window
resize (window size tracked from window::Event::Resized) and clamped again on
load (a size saved under a different window could be out of range).
Persistence: participants_width / chat_height are new serde-default AppConfig
fields; the divider publishes PersistConfig on drag release so the final
position is written once (not per pixel). 3 clamp unit tests (incl. a tiny-window
degenerate case) + config backward-compat assertions for the new fields.

Adds Discord-style app-internal gain controls under each device picker:
input volume scales the captured mic (applied before the meter/gate/encode,
so it also moves the mic meter), output volume scales the mixed playback
(on top of per-peer volumes). PeerSpeak-only — no system/other-app effect.
Both persist in config (input_volume/output_volume, serde default 1.0 for
backward compat) and read live by the audio loops via f32-bit atomics, so
they take effect mid-call. Sliders apply live on drag and save on release.
The standalone mic-test monitor applies the same input gain so the test
meter reflects it. Reuses the existing apply_volume helper (unity fast-path
+ i16 saturation).
Tests: config backward-compat + round-trip for the new fields (gain math
itself is covered by the existing apply_volume tests). 65 lib tests, clippy
clean. Field-verified: input slider moves the mic-test meter.

Add #[cfg(test)] coverage for src/config.rs: default round-trip,
backward-compat default-fill (old configs missing newer #[serde(default)]
fields still load), notifications_enabled default_true wiring, NetworkMode
default/ALL/Display/round-trip, and unknown-field tolerance. Derives
PartialEq on AppConfig to support equality asserts. Tests-only; no
production behavior change.
Implemented by Gemini (junior implementer), reviewed and verified by senior
(cargo build + clippy --all-targets + cargo test all green).

Add an opt-in Echo Cancellation toggle (Settings) that routes the call
through PipeWire's module-echo-cancel (WebRTC AEC + noise suppression + AGC)
instead of running an in-process canceller. PipeWire already sees both the
mic and the speaker monitor, so it handles the echo-reference alignment for
free and we avoid a C++ DSP dependency.
src/audio/echo_cancel.rs (new):
- enable(real_source, real_sink) loads the module via pactl (aec_method=webrtc),
bound to the chosen devices with source_master/sink_master (defaults if unset),
waits for the virtual nodes to appear, and returns an RAII guard that unloads
the module on drop. Best-effort pre-clean of a stale instance from a crashed run.
- EC_SOURCE / EC_SINK are the virtual cleaned-mic source and reference sink.
core: when echo_cancellation is set on Join, load the module and point capture
at EC_SOURCE / playback at EC_SINK; stash the guard in ActiveSession so it
unloads on shutdown (after the audio streams release the nodes). Any failure
logs + warns the UI and falls back to the direct devices — never blocks the call.
config: new echo_cancellation_enabled (serde default false). app: Settings
checkbox under Mic Sensitivity, applied on next room join. An ignored live
smoke test covers the real load/unload path.

Audible chimes for reconnect/reconnected/reconnect-failed, self-leave,
peer join/leave, and mic/deafen toggle, completing the 4-phase
notification plan (phase 1 room/peer join+leave shipped in 673b72d).
- Per-event custom WAV overrides in Settings, with ~ expansion and live
file-found/not-found validation; persisted on settings exit. Each event
falls back to its embedded default chime when no custom path is set.
- Reconnect-attempt chime is edge-triggered: fires once per disconnect,
not once per redial attempt.
- Global "enable sound notifications" toggle.
The endpoint previously used presets::N0, which both relays through n0's
servers and publishes a signed EndpointId->addresses record to n0's public
DNS every time you go online. Since PeerSpeak already exchanges full peer
addresses via the join ticket and gossip, that DNS presence beacon is
redundant here.
Adds a NetworkMode config option (persisted, switchable from Settings):
- RelayNoDiscovery (new default): presets::Minimal + RelayMode::Default +
the in-memory address lookup. Keeps n0 relay for NAT traversal but drops
the DNS publish/resolve, so n0 only ever sees relayed-call metadata, never
a standing online beacon.
- N0Full: previous behavior (relay + DNS) for maximum reliability.
- DirectOnly: RelayMode::Disabled, fully serverless.
The mode is applied when the endpoint is built on room join. Existing
config.json files load unchanged via #[serde(default)].
