Details
license: adopt MIT for the application + add THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES 
Set license = "MIT" (Cargo.toml), add the MIT LICENSE file, and switch the
PKGBUILD to license=('MIT'). Generate a THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES file enumerating
the full dependency-graph manifest plus the canonical text of every referenced
license, with notices for the statically-bundled Opus codec and the embedded
fonts (Iced-Icons, Cantarell/OFL-1.1). Ship both files in the .deb and Arch
packages. Update README License section and stale private-build metadata.

Codex (gpt-5.5) audited the tree and confirmed no copyleft blocks MIT; the
remaining items were asset provenance + binary-distribution notice hygiene,
which THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES addresses.

# Third-Party Licenses
PeerSpeak itself is licensed under the MIT License (see `LICENSE`).
Copyright (c) 2026 mollusk.
This file collects the licenses of the third-party components that are
redistributed with PeerSpeak in source and/or binary form, in fulfilment of
those licenses' attribution requirements. It has two parts:
1. A manifest of every crate in the dependency graph and its SPDX license
expression (this enumerates the full graph across all target platforms;
a given build links only the subset relevant to its target).
2. The full text of each license referenced by those components.
Where a crate is offered under a choice of licenses (an SPDX `OR` expression),
PeerSpeak takes it under one of the permissive options. None of the components
impose copyleft on PeerSpeak's own source.
## Notable bundled non-crate components
- **Opus codec** — On builds that statically bundle libopus (e.g. the Windows
cross-build via `audiopus_sys`), the Opus codec is included under the
BSD 3-Clause License, Copyright (c) 2001-2023 Xiph.Org Foundation and
contributors. On Linux distro packages, Opus is a dynamically linked system
library (the `opus` / `libopus` package) and is not bundled.
- **Embedded fonts** — Two TrueType fonts are compiled in transitively via
dependencies:
* `Iced-Icons.ttf` — the icon font shipped inside the `iced_graphics`
crate (assembled via Fontello; distributed as part of that MIT crate).
* `Cantarell-Regular.ttf` — shipped inside `sctk-adwaita` for Wayland
client-side window decorations; the Cantarell typeface is licensed under
the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
## Project-owned assets
The application icon (`assets/icons/*`), the preset avatars
(`assets/avatars/preset*.png`), and the notification chimes
(generated by `assets/sounds/generate_chimes.py`) are original works created
for PeerSpeak and are covered by the project's MIT license.
